210 Sacred Harvest Festival
What: Sacred Harvest Festival
Where: Harmony Park, just north of Albert Lea, Minnesota
When: August 7-15
Web: http://www.harmonytribe.org/shf2010/
You can still sign up for the 2010 Sacred Harvest Festival through the end
of July.
The tribe has been hard at work designing a festival around this year’s
theme; “Seducing the Muse”.
Our special guests will help attendees find their muses. This year we have
internationally known environmental sculptor, performance and video
artist, Cherie Sampson. Anne Marie Forrester, well-known local artist and
longtime member of the Pagan community, will be there to help you tap into
your inner creativity. Author Veronica Cummer is returning this year.
White Deer will be there with his drums as well as his dancer wife,
Violette Rose. Visit our website to see their bios. There will also be
other wonderful workshops during the week.
This year’s rituals will inspire the muses. Here’s the proposed ritual
line-up:
Saturday: “Welcoming the Wise Child” – this ritual will engage the part of
us which is knowing yet playful.
Sunday: “Finding your Muse” – Search the camp for your sources of
inspiration.
Monday: “Honoring the Oaks” this guest ritual from Owl’s crew will honor
nature and the land.
Tuesday: “Kid’s Comedy & Tragedy” – this ritual drama will deal with
inclusiveness and miscommunication.
Wednesday: “Tribal Hunt” – this ritual is an annual tradition of intense
personal transformation.
Thursday: a guest ritual from Violet Rose and White Deer.
Friday: “Rangoli” – another annual tradition of making designs filled with
our prayers, and then dancing them into the Earth.
Saturday: a guest ritual from Anne Marie Forrester & Veronica Cummer
Sunday: “Closing Pot-Latch Ritual” – throughout the week, everyone will be
encouraged to make a blessing pouch, and during this ritual the pouches
will be exchanged and given away.
Of course the entertainers all have a wonderful relationship with their
muses; Murphey’s Midnight Rounders, Rumgumption, Hugin the Bard, and Magic
Mama. This will definitely be a good year to also just hang around the
Bardic Circle. Of course we will be continuing the Not So Talented Talent
Show hosted by Sister Mirtha Reverence!
There will also be multi-tiered workshops every day to inspire your muses.
There will be drumming and dancing every night. By the end of this
festival, every attendee will have had many opportunities to connect with
their creative energies.

Sioux Prayer Request
Sioux Prayer Request
This is an open letter from Chief Arvol Looking Horse (Present Chief and Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe of the Lakota, Dakota, Nakota Nation of the Sioux)
Gulf Coast Oil Spill – Sioux Prayer Request
A Great Urgency
To All Nations
My Relatives,
Time has come to speak to the hearts of our Nations and their Leaders. I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, to come together from the Spirit of your Nations in prayer.
We, from the heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the World; we are guided to speak from all the White Animals showing their sacred color, which have been signs for us to pray for the sacred life of all things. As I am sending this message to you, many Animal Nations are being threatened, those that swim, those that crawl, those that fly, and the plant Nations, eventually all will be affected from the oil disaster in the Gulf.
The dangers we are faced with at this time are not of spirit. The catastrophe that has happened with the oil spill which looks like the bleeding of Grandmother Earth, is made by human mistakes, mistakes that we cannot afford to continue to make.
I asked, as Spiritual Leaders, that we join together, united in prayer with the whole of our Global Communities. My concern is these serious issues will continue to worsen, as a domino effect that our Ancestors have warned us of in their Prophecies.
I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel our united prayers for the sake of our Grandmother Earth are long overdue. I believe we as Spiritual people must gather ourselves and focus our thoughts and prayers to allow the healing of the many wounds that have been inflicted on the Earth. As we honor the Cycle of Life, let us call for Prayer circles globally to assist in healing Grandmother Earth (our Unc'I Maka).
We ask for prayers that the oil spill, this bleeding, will stop. That the winds stay calm to assist in the work. Pray for the people to be guided in repairing this mistake, and that we may also seek to live in harmony, as we make the choice to change the destructive path we are on.
As we pray, we will fully understand that we are all connected. And that what we create can have lasting effects on all life.
So let us unite spiritually, All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer. Along with this immediate effort, I also ask to please remember June 21st, World Peace and Prayer Day/Honoring Sacred Sites day. Whether it is a natural site, a temple, a church, a synagogue or just your own sacred space, let us make a prayer for all life, for good decision making by our Nations, for our children's future and well-being, and the generations to come.

Solar Wind Power
The following are some sites that give you ideas and possible cost and financing. I will try in the days coming up to add to this list. One of the things I have heard about to cut electrical costs to find out how energy efficient your current home is called thermal imaging. It takes a thermal photo as to where the heat and cooling leaks are in your home so you can plug these gaps. I recently moved into a new apartment complex here in Missouri(August 2009) and was shoked at the electrical bill I had for September and October. It has electric heat and central air conditioning and the total electrical bill per month was $20.00. Recent laws passed here in Missouri mandated energy efficient construction of all new houses and apartments. These modifications to your home can make the purchase of solar/windpower more affordable. Here in Missouri, you are required by law, when purchasing solar/windpower for your home, to contact your electrical company so when you hookup your home with solar/windpower and you make more electricity than you need, you can get paid for your excess power production.

Limit your use of Energy
Thanks for passing that info on. So perhaps this isn't in the card for you just yet, however, there are many other things you can do. Have you considered wind power, we have plenty of wind where I live in Arizona.
Limit your present use of energy. We've all heard of physic vampires but do you realize you have energy vampires in your house?
Your computer is one such energy vampire. There is a meter you can purchase to check appliances and such in your house to see what appliances are guilty of constantly sucking energy out of your house. Let me look it up and I'll post it here. Change to the new energy efficient light bulbs.
Have a "black out night". Use beeswax candles or some other form of illumination rather then flipping switch.
Walk when you can. Start a garden. Turn off the light switch. Shade the sunny parts of your home to reduce your cooling. You can make what are called window quilts. White for summer and a dark color for winters that will attract solar heat.
Have a tank water heater? Look into getting a heat on demand tank less water heater. They only run when you turn on the hot water tap and heat the water you need instantly. No tank, gives you more space and doesn't waste propane or electric.
Only buy from businesses who are "green". Use the cloth bags for your groceries or make your own and decorate as you wish. Stop using so much plastic. Recycle, Recycle, Recycle.
There are many things you can start doing now that no matter how small it seems will make a difference. The point is if everyone starts thinking green and start with the little things, it will make a major impact collectively. The more you get used to doing it, the easier it is to take the next step. Think outside the box...some folks are building their own solar panels. :D
Just some thoughts.

Recipe For Red skin or Rough Skin
An age-old folklore ideas that seem to have been lost with time. But if you follow step by step instructions it can benefit you. Cut a tomato in half sprinkle just a touch of salt on it. Rub it on your red or toughened skin. Don't worry about seed or dribbling juice; you will be able to was it off in an half and hour after it dries. Then wash off, swab the treated area with a quart of boiled water which you have added a tablespoon of white vinegar. Do not use soap, ointments or lotions beyond the tomotoe and the vinegar-water. If the redness is still apparent after 2 hours repeat the treatment.

Beltane Year Cycle
Many of us celebrate May festivals demonstrates how Pagan survived the Christanization of the British Isles. The May Queen is simply a disguise for a Goddess proxy. Even the May pole the very heart of our holy day, is a symbolic merger of soft feminine ribbons playfully winding around an erect phallus. Celebrate May Eve at sundown or May 1st also known as May Day. Named for the Celtic God of light. Witches calender beginning of summer, the first day of fout Celtic fire festivals.
The Beltane Craft summer festival observed on the full moon nearest May Ist. Which would of been April 28.

Witch's Reply
Witches are not all what you see on late night TV show. The Christians profess to have the expertise, But little do they really know. The preachers preach their sermons; their pulpits they fiercely pound.Thou shalt not suffer a Witch to Live!" they say. Their ignorance is so totally profound! They say that Witches worship 'Satan'.. Well I am here to say that just ain't so! Witches don't even acknowledge their 'Devil'. You see I'm a Witch so I guess I oughta know! Nor do we ride our brooms or steal little children to eat. These are rumor started by the Christians. These people are so dear, so sweet. And we don't sacrifice animals or humans. As we're reported to supposedly do. We were the ones being sacrificed, it certainly wasn't you.
Witches live in harmony and love and honor our Mother Earth We treasure the world we live in. And love to marvel at the miracle of birth. So before you stroke up your fires, before you set up your stakes. Please take the time to learn the truth about Witches! For all our sakes..

Milwaukee Ostara Festival, March 28
Greetings all,
I know this event may be a bit far for some of you, but the Milwaukee Pagan Unity Council (MPUC) has been working their cottontails off on this event and I thought I'd share this great resource.
The festival has 3 tracks of workshops all day, plus a children's track with kids activities, rituals, and workshops. ADF will host the opening ritual and I'll be hosting the closing ritual in the ecstatic participatory style. I'll also be offering a workshop on tools for Pagan leaders and community builders.
It's free to attend, though donations are accepted. Enjoy, and spring abundance to you!

Our program this year includes key note speaker Reverend Kirk Thomas, Vice Arch Druid of ADF and previous President of Cherry Hill Seminary, and other presenters offering workshops on crystal healing, Pagan leadership, introductions to Pagan traditions, soul retrieval, drumming, Kabballah, Chakras, new age spirituality, personal empowerment, public rituals, and much more.
The event also includes craft and vendor booths, arts, entertainment, and is a family friendly event with children’s play area and activities.
For more information check out www.milwaukeeostarafestival.com.
About the Milwaukee Pagan Unity Council:
* Milwaukee Pagan Unity Council is a local community focused organization that provides support, information and services to members of the pagan community. We work toward educating the non-pagan community and dispelling many myths involving pagans.
* Our mission is to provide a forum for followers of various pagan spiritual paths to openly meet and discuss their similarities and differences; to work together to gain acceptance for our members within the mainstream of our society; to provide a platform of change, growth and education for all people or groups accepting of, or open to, the goals and beliefs of the pagan community.

Water Street Bridge
Separately these music veterans are known as Jocko Voxo, Mavpotchka, Nox and
Goater. Together they're turning heads, changing minds and carving out a new
genre of acoustic music. Blending Celtic, Americanna, Gypsy, Blues, Folk,
Slavic, Creole and Jazz music they create a sound that is uniquely Water Street
Bridge and can only be described as Garage Celtic, Pseudo-Slavic,
Electro-Magically Eclectic Acoustic.
Brandishing an impressive arsenal of musical instruments (including guitar,
resonator guitar, mandolin, ukulele, fiddle, viola, pennywhistle, squeeze box,
harmonica, bongos, doumbek, agogo, washboard, djembe, tupon and bodhran - just
to name a few) they bring new life to tales of old, old sounds to modern tales
and twisted takes on tales never meant to be told.
This AIN'T your mommas folk music. Anything can happen, and usually includes a
heaping Gumbo of Celti-Slavi-World-i-Cana, with plantains.
