NaturalNews Insider Alert ( www.NaturalNews.com ) email newsletter
(Unsubscribe instructions at bottom)

Dear NaturalNews readers,

It's absolutely shocking news: The U.S. Department of Agriculture has publicly admitted it is responsible for the mass poisoning of tens of millions of birds over the last several years.

It's all part of the USDA's program called "Bye Bye Blackbird," and we even have the USDA's spreadsheet where they document how many millions of birds (and other animals) they've poisoned to death.

This is not a hoax. It's a sick story of government use of taxpayer funds to kill the wildlife:
http://www.naturalnews.com/031076_USDA_bird_deaths.html

Here I document the number of animals the USDA is actually killing, based on their own reports:
http://www.naturalnews.com/031084_bird_deaths_holocaust.html

There's even a video that explains the USDA's involvement in a recent mass bird die-off near the border of Nebraska:

On the good news side of things today, research shows that avocados contain a "good fat" that can help boost levels of "good cholesterol"

And here are some natural recipes to keep your skin hydrated during the winter:

It's true: flu shots cause seizures, and the FDA is now investigating a new round of seizures from this year's flu shot for infants:

Finally, it turns out that the use of pesticides has created mutant bed bugs that now inhabit mattresses and pillows all across America:

Energy Work

Greetings All,

It has been a while since I have posted any thing.

I have a question for the group: Three nights ago, I was working with Light Energy, White, Silver and Gold, nothing new, but this time I intensified the Working, (my own methods, not from a book or anothers' way of working). It was very uplifting. But, the day after and the day after that, my emotions were intense, and not the good kind, I blew up at my mother when I was speaking with her, both days, said things I do not normaly say, etc., and, to make things worse, I had thoughts of suicide both days.

I have heard, in the past, of Yogis saying there are certain intense Energy Work which one should not try alone, because they can cause one to become unstable. Now, I am wondering if the reason I experienced these things is because I just was not ready. I really do not know any thing about Kundalini, but, in my own way and methods, I have learned to work with higher energies, but just not to the intensity to which I did that night.

Now, my question: Has any one else had any negative experiences working with "Higher Energies" similar to what I experienced ?

Thanks for any replies !

Now I have seen everything

Indeed this is true, up north in Wisconsin they have Saint Nick's day which falls around the 21st and kids are to receive a gift that night. Thus falling more in line of many Norse customs.
It is true that many heathen or Pagan customs were included into the Christian celebration of Yule.
And there are Merry or Happy Yule cards in all the stores.

Unfortunately Christmas has become overly commercialized these days and the true meanings of the ancient celebrations are long lost in the tinsel and gaudiness of the season. It's all about getting the best most expensive gifts, who has the biggest light display and all the trim.

Keith and I put up a tree with ornaments we made from Mother Earth. I make the candles with the scents of the season and do my holiday baking. My alter is decorated to honor the turning of the wheel and the new season upon us.

We don't have much to put under the tree, but that is not a big part of our celebrations, it's about family and friends. It's about storytelling and wishes for the new season. It's about reciting the history of our families and our past rites. And it's about sharing what we have with those who don't have anything.

It's funny you should speak of the Norse stories of Santa Clause. I do collect Santa's and all of mine are along that description.

I think especially in these hard economic times it's a good lesson to pass forward to our families that Yule, Christmas, Hanukah, etc is not about all the bling, but it's about the simple things and about family, old friends, and making new friends. It's about sharing and simple things. It's about traditions and the practices of said traditions. Besides the modern day celebrations tend to lead to a great deal of stress and upset. That alone should tell you about the wisdom of celebrating this modern day Christmas. Not to mention that going into debt for the year to make sure there are all kinds of gifts for everyone under the tree, doesn't work in these tough economic times when most folks are wondering if they can keep their house, job, or put food on the table.

So with that said, let's share with one another our favorite rituals, recipes, crafts, music, and do some story telling of our own. Tis the season and although we may live miles apart, the internet allows us to make our own little celebration here amongst ourselves.

Blessed Be,
Laura

> I personally have no problem with Santa Clause, he’s about as Pagan as you get. After all, he’s been described as Fey, is definitely magickal, and gives gifts. What more could you want? Santa lives at the North Pole, which makes perfect sense since Yule is a Norse Holy Day. He has Elves who do his bidding, and he rewards or punishes based on a person’s behavior.
>
>
> Sounds pretty Pagan to me.
>
>
> Greyhart
>
> There are so many meaningful and fun activities that one does for Yule, I see no reason to add Santa Clause. If you want to do Santa Clause and Chrisitmas fine, but to try to mix the two is and was a trick the original Christians used to bring the masses away from Paganism and into the Church. One can do both, but I'm personally against mixing the two.

Now I have seen everything

Now I've Seen Everything!
by Michael Lee-Price on Tuesday, 14 December 2010 at 12:19

Opened up my mail and Social Networks this morning and read all my emails (the
entire 1) and all my messages from Facebook, Tweeter, MySpace etc.

It is NOW Official "Paganism" is DEAD!

I received an invitation to Attend a .... wait for it ... a "Pagan Christmas
Party" ... WTF ... the Theme is that everyone planning to attend dress up like
Santa ... but wait ... there is more ... I also recieved an invitation to attend
a Christmas Workshop titled : "Santa Claus Shaman Classes"

Oh ... please .... now I may not be exactly "Pagan" being an alternative
Spiritualists ,,, but when are you "so called" pagans who also, practice
Christian Rituals, such as Easter and Christmas, going to realise ...YOU can
not have you Cake and Eat it too ...

There is NO SUCH Thing as a Pagan Christian or Christian Pagan ... yes there may
be a thing called a Christian Witch ... but No Virginna there is NO Pagan
Christian ... IT IS AN OXYMORON!

Much like the Pagans who sent me these invitations ... OXYMORONS minus the Oxy!

oViolet Willow Lol what next..

oMichelle Salt There might be a few foxy morons there.

oVyvyan Ogma Wyverne aren't they adorable. send 'em sweet blessings
and the inspiration of common sense.
.
oKym-Maree Kuijpers Im all for each to his/her own. besides we as
alternative still celebrate this time of year. maybe incorperating the 2 shows
understanding we are not all of the same beliefs

oMichael Lee-Price I'm sorry Kym but you can't incorporate Paganism
and Christianity! It would be a contrary and conflicting belief system and a
Bastardizaion of both

oKym-Maree Kuijpers but what is the problem with celebrating at the
same time together, reguardless of beliefs? why does it always come down to who
believes what.

oMichael Lee-Price Religion is the worse invention of man! However,
are we talking Cultural Festivals or Religious Festivals? If we celebrate
Christmas (which MEANS Christ MASS) then we ae NOT Pagan but followers of the
Christ! If we celebrate YULE (Christmas) as a Cultural Festival then we should
be celebrating it in WINTER like they Do in the Northern Hemisphere. Any "Pagan"
we celebrates a Christian Festival is NOT really a Pagan!

oKym-Maree Kuijpers well my mum celebrates christmas, am i do
denounce her invitation? no, i dont tell people how to live, or who to follow,
they can believe in what they want. as long as it doesnt interfere with my way.
Nobody was offended at our handfasting, (not a christian occasion) yet 95% of
those there are christian. So why should i be offended to an invitation to non
pagan events? i find it extremely satisfying that they thought of be not because
of my beliefs but because im me.

o Michael Lee-Price:

I think You have got the short and curly here Kym! I AM NOT SAYING we can't
HONOR our relatives and friends by attending their activities and celebrations.I
attend Louise's family Christmas dinner every years and I attend Wiccan Rituals
wh...en I am not Wiccan.I have and had friends who are ASATRU and attended their
festivals and Rituals.I HONOR Louise by participating in her Rituals.BUT There
is NO SUCH think as Pagan Christians and I refuse to participate in a Ritual or
Activity which is an AFFRONT to other Religions i.e "A PAGAN CHRIST MASS PARTY"
or " SANTA CLAUS SHAMAN CLASSES"and Halloween celebrations here in Australia
during what is traditionally BELTANE is a JOKE and I am at a lose that PAGANS in
Australia actually celebrate it in SPRING!

o Mike Kuijpers
Mic what you seem to be confusing is Christ Mass the celebration of the birth of Jesus, and the goverment declared time of year we call christmas. To have a party in the later half of december for the purpose of celebrating the year past is... commonly known as a christmas party. To say pagans or other non-christians should not do this is overstating the christian point of veiw Christian celebrate christmas by going to chuch. As for yule, yule is the germanic festival celebrated on december 24th-25th and halloween is 31st october as declared as a US holiday although these celebration also fall on sabats it should not be taken that they are the same thing. The sabats change from the northern to the southern hemispheres but certain other celebrations that coincide with them donot need to follow the change.

o Michael Lee-Price
I know what I mean Mike! No Confusion! What I OBJECT to is PAGAN Christmas Parties and Santa Claus Shaman Workshops or any other cockermanee projects that certain "Pagans" come up with to either:
a) Combined booth religions so it looks legit... or to keep the Majority happy.
b) To Fleece money off the gullible, young and naive or just plain stupid journeymen.
c) Present a Mismatch of beliefs which confuse the young people who wish to follow an ancient path.

Nothing personal to both you and Kym … but please don't tell me what I mean, my friends. Please re-read WHAT I wrote originally!

...And please don't DUMB ME DOWN on my OWN Board. I have written thesis on Paganism long before you decided you were pagan.

Question of the Day

So.....how about all this groping going on in Airports today? Would you go through the "naked" machine or go for the grope? Or tell them to shove it and leave.

Personally I think we should use profiling *GASP* (she said the profiling word) and better intelligence methods. But I'm sure that won't go over well either. Not PC. But ...it works. Teach the screeners to read body language and facial expressions, tics, etc. Teach them the right questions to ask and how to judge the reactions. Use dogs. Also, I wonder if ultra sound technology could be adapted for use which would also show if anyone were carrying anything inside their bodies.

In the meantime I suppose if I really needed to go somewhere I'd simply step through the machine and deal with it. In the meantime, however, be working to get this changed...based on our 4Th amendment rights. After all, it's not like the do this to every single passenger.

I hear a huge uproar, but I'm wondering if these people will really all stand up for their rights by opting out in mass during the holidays.

I mean we've lead ourselves here by giving so much control for our safety over to the government. Complacency is never a good thing, yet we have been so I find it ironic when folks suddenly have a moment of independent thinking and cry fowl. I also find it funny when people cry and complain, yet they never come up with any alternative solutions. Instead they fill the Internet with complaints.

Calling all TSA agents pedophiles and perverts, claiming that next they will want to do body cavity searches, calling the scanners porno machines is simply not an intelligent way to get your point across or to make changes.

So what's your take on it? (my shameless attempt to get some discussion going here)

More on the Food bill

The problem is that Big Ag has been/and continues to sacrifice food safety for profit. The bill is too weak to solve the problem, however it does reduce risk a little. IMO the bill is weak because politicians are under pressure from food safety groups to tighten regulations and from industry to allow industry to regulate itself. This ...bill is the compromise crafted between those interests, failing to get this bill passed just means the next set of food safety regulations will be even weaker.

That's my take on it.

Ok the sender of the coffee ad just told another group not to open it, however, I see he hasn't come back here and told my groups. Hopefully you have not opened it. Please just delete the coffee email.

I have put his account on moderation until such time as I see what is going on. Same with Michelle's account.

In this day and age, it i...s best simply not to open any email unless you know the sender or it is a item you have subscribed to. If you open a email from one of those sources and it only has a link or ad like this coffee to click on. Don't click.

Keep your virus and other protective systems up to date. If you cruise the net alot, as I do, then I highly suggest you run daily scans.

There are a lot of nasty little bugs out there, we have to be even more carefull then ever. Computer repairs are not cheap.

The Coming of the Peace Maker

My youngest is getting quite excited about celebrating Halloween this weekend. He is torn between wearing last year's Jedi costume and the previous year's Grim Reaper costume. I think he is going to wear the Reaper's cape with his Jedi costume and pretend to be Anakin Skywalker after he switched to the dark side.

I hope you are all enjoying helping your favorite little Trick-or-Treaters prepare for their night of festivities. Whatever you have planned, stay safe.

It's Time to Come Together

It's time to come together against discrimination of all kinds. The recent rash of suicides by our young people who were gay or perceived to be gay must stop.

We must be a fighting force against all discrimination. We must talk to parents, teachers, members of our local, state, and federal governments.

Most importantly we need to talk to parents. I am of the crowd that believes that sex should be taught at home. I am a parent of two boys and I have much against my EX husbands wishes. It is up to parents to stop this bullying in schools.

Its not a gay issue, its not a black issue, its not a Muslim issue.....it is a HUMAN issue. We must fight for the rights of all and allow them their constitutional right to pursue happiness.

Those of the GLBT community can no easier change their "lifestyle" or choice then those of us who are heterosexual. It's time we all got past that and allow them the same respect and rights that we have. As a person who has fought for religious rights for the last 25 years, I can not ignore their fight for the right to be treated equally, to be allowed to love and raise families.

Many already do, under the radar...which is sad. But if we as a country want to preach equal rights then we are obligated to ensure that our brothers and sisters in the GLBT community can Marry, can Serve in the Military, Can come out of the closet.

It's time to walk our talk. I stand behind this battle, always have. Let us all work for the equality. Those of us who are Pagan and know what discrimination feels like join in this battle.

Let us join hands with our GLBT brothers and sisters and put an end to discrimination once and for all.

Druid has Been Recognized

LONDON (AFP) – Britain has recognised druidry as an official religion for the first time, thousands of years after the Celtic pagan faith emerged in Europe, the country's charity commission said Saturday.

The Druid Network, an organisation representing the religion in Britain, was granted charitable status in a decision that not only gives it tax breaks but also lets the religion take its place alongside more mainstream beliefs.

"This has been a long hard struggle, taking over five years to complete," the Druid Network said in a statement after its application to be registered as a charity had been accepted by the Charity Commission.

In its ruling on the group's application, the commission said it accepted that druidry was an "ancient pagan religion" in its own right involving the worship of nature, particularly the sun and the earth.

Druid rituals involve "commonality of practice" across the faith including solar and fire festivals, ceremonies at various phases of the moon, seasonal festivals and rites of passage in life.

There had also been some official recognition already, it added, including a provision by Britain's Prison Service for the practice of druidry and the attendance of a pagan chaplain at services.

"The board members concluded that The Druid Network is established for exclusively charitable purposes for the advancement of religion for the public benefit," the Charity Commission said.

Druidry emerged in ancient Ireland and Britain and spread further afield during the Iron Age, especially into France, but became largely supplanted as Christianity took hold across Europe.

It has gained recent popularity because of its pantheistic nature and concern with ecology.

Pagans United

This group is here to be what you the members make of it. While we have many activists who are out front and vocal about religious freedoms and the environment, this is also a place to learn, share, and grow.

So whether you are vocal or prefer to work behind the scenes here at Pagans United, you are welcomed with open arms.

We do ask that you post an intro telling us a little bit about yourself and what you hope to get out of membership in Pagans United. There is always something going on so feel free to jump in whenever the mood strikes you.

Many will come here seeking more knowledge or guidance. Some will come to aid in providing knowledge, some will bring their soapboxes and stand on them quite often. There is a place and a purpose for all those who wish to join. Welcome and thank you for choosing Pagans United.
