Question of the Day

So.....how about all this groping going on in Airports today? Would you go through the "naked" machine or go for the grope? Or tell them to shove it and leave.

Personally I think we should use profiling *GASP* (she said the profiling word) and better intelligence methods. But I'm sure that won't go over well either. Not PC. But ...it works. Teach the screeners to read body language and facial expressions, tics, etc. Teach them the right questions to ask and how to judge the reactions. Use dogs. Also, I wonder if ultra sound technology could be adapted for use which would also show if anyone were carrying anything inside their bodies.

In the meantime I suppose if I really needed to go somewhere I'd simply step through the machine and deal with it. In the meantime, however, be working to get this changed...based on our 4Th amendment rights. After all, it's not like the do this to every single passenger.

I hear a huge uproar, but I'm wondering if these people will really all stand up for their rights by opting out in mass during the holidays.

I mean we've lead ourselves here by giving so much control for our safety over to the government. Complacency is never a good thing, yet we have been so I find it ironic when folks suddenly have a moment of independent thinking and cry fowl. I also find it funny when people cry and complain, yet they never come up with any alternative solutions. Instead they fill the Internet with complaints.

Calling all TSA agents pedophiles and perverts, claiming that next they will want to do body cavity searches, calling the scanners porno machines is simply not an intelligent way to get your point across or to make changes.

So what's your take on it? (my shameless attempt to get some discussion going here)

More on the Food bill

The problem is that Big Ag has been/and continues to sacrifice food safety for profit. The bill is too weak to solve the problem, however it does reduce risk a little. IMO the bill is weak because politicians are under pressure from food safety groups to tighten regulations and from industry to allow industry to regulate itself. This ...bill is the compromise crafted between those interests, failing to get this bill passed just means the next set of food safety regulations will be even weaker.

That's my take on it.

Coffee Ad

Ok the sender of the coffee ad just told another group not to open it, however, I see he hasn't come back here and told my groups. Hopefully you have not opened it. Please just delete the coffee email.

I have put his account on moderation until such time as I see what is going on. Same with Michelle's account.

In this day and age, it i...s best simply not to open any email unless you know the sender or it is a item you have subscribed to. If you open a email from one of those sources and it only has a link or ad like this coffee to click on. Don't click.

Keep your virus and other protective systems up to date. If you cruise the net alot, as I do, then I highly suggest you run daily scans.

There are a lot of nasty little bugs out there, we have to be even more carefull then ever. Computer repairs are not cheap.

The Coming of the Peace Maker

My youngest is getting quite excited about celebrating Halloween this weekend. He is torn between wearing last year's Jedi costume and the previous year's Grim Reaper costume. I think he is going to wear the Reaper's cape with his Jedi costume and pretend to be Anakin Skywalker after he switched to the dark side.

I hope you are all enjoying helping your favorite little Trick-or-Treaters prepare for their night of festivities. Whatever you have planned, stay safe.

It's Time to Come Together

It's time to come together against discrimination of all kinds. The recent rash of suicides by our young people who were gay or perceived to be gay must stop.

We must be a fighting force against all discrimination. We must talk to parents, teachers, members of our local, state, and federal governments.

Most importantly we need to talk to parents. I am of the crowd that believes that sex should be taught at home. I am a parent of two boys and I have much against my EX husbands wishes. It is up to parents to stop this bullying in schools.

Its not a gay issue, its not a black issue, its not a Muslim issue.....it is a HUMAN issue. We must fight for the rights of all and allow them their constitutional right to pursue happiness.

Those of the GLBT community can no easier change their "lifestyle" or choice then those of us who are heterosexual. It's time we all got past that and allow them the same respect and rights that we have. As a person who has fought for religious rights for the last 25 years, I can not ignore their fight for the right to be treated equally, to be allowed to love and raise families.

Many already do, under the radar...which is sad. But if we as a country want to preach equal rights then we are obligated to ensure that our brothers and sisters in the GLBT community can Marry, can Serve in the Military, Can come out of the closet.

It's time to walk our talk. I stand behind this battle, always have. Let us all work for the equality. Those of us who are Pagan and know what discrimination feels like join in this battle.

Let us join hands with our GLBT brothers and sisters and put an end to discrimination once and for all.

Druid has Been Recognized

LONDON (AFP) – Britain has recognised druidry as an official religion for the first time, thousands of years after the Celtic pagan faith emerged in Europe, the country's charity commission said Saturday.

The Druid Network, an organisation representing the religion in Britain, was granted charitable status in a decision that not only gives it tax breaks but also lets the religion take its place alongside more mainstream beliefs.

"This has been a long hard struggle, taking over five years to complete," the Druid Network said in a statement after its application to be registered as a charity had been accepted by the Charity Commission.

In its ruling on the group's application, the commission said it accepted that druidry was an "ancient pagan religion" in its own right involving the worship of nature, particularly the sun and the earth.

Druid rituals involve "commonality of practice" across the faith including solar and fire festivals, ceremonies at various phases of the moon, seasonal festivals and rites of passage in life.

There had also been some official recognition already, it added, including a provision by Britain's Prison Service for the practice of druidry and the attendance of a pagan chaplain at services.

"The board members concluded that The Druid Network is established for exclusively charitable purposes for the advancement of religion for the public benefit," the Charity Commission said.

Druidry emerged in ancient Ireland and Britain and spread further afield during the Iron Age, especially into France, but became largely supplanted as Christianity took hold across Europe.

It has gained recent popularity because of its pantheistic nature and concern with ecology.

Pagans United

This group is here to be what you the members make of it. While we have many activists who are out front and vocal about religious freedoms and the environment, this is also a place to learn, share, and grow.

So whether you are vocal or prefer to work behind the scenes here at Pagans United, you are welcomed with open arms.

We do ask that you post an intro telling us a little bit about yourself and what you hope to get out of membership in Pagans United. There is always something going on so feel free to jump in whenever the mood strikes you.

Many will come here seeking more knowledge or guidance. Some will come to aid in providing knowledge, some will bring their soapboxes and stand on them quite often. There is a place and a purpose for all those who wish to join. Welcome and thank you for choosing Pagans United.

Question

Would you elect a witch into office?
Sure, as long as I felt that the person was qualified.
No way.

Interesting Article

When clips of Delaware Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell telling "Politically Incorrect" host Bill Maher that she once dabbled in witchcraft surfaced, we wondered, can a politician be a witch?

Lillitu Shahar Kunning, blogger at Witch Mom, doesn't see a problem with it. The Feri witch sheds some moonlight on her religion, and says society's understanding of her life is akin to believing the word "yellow" simply means the color of the brick road, a definition as narrow as the point on a witch's hat.

ParentDish spoke with Shahar Kunning, mother to son Rowan, 6 months, about what it's like to be a witch and a mom. We assume that's pretty close to being a witch and a politician. An edited version of our interview with her follows.

ParentDish: So witches are in the news at the moment. What do you think about the Christine O'Donnell uproar? Is it possible to be a politician and a witch?
Lillitu Shahar Kunning: Oy! I don't want to claim Christine O'Donnell. It's kind of like when Sen. Larry Craig was caught in that airport bathroom. No gay person wanted to claim him, either. Actually, I haven't seen the old footage from Bill Maher, but from what I understand, she was a dabbler, not an actual witch with religious principles.

PD: Yeah, she's not a mom, either, so we can't help her. Speaking of which, congratulations on the birth of your son, Rowan. We read on your blog that he was born on the auspicious night of the Wolf Moon.
LSK: He was conceived on Beltaine, which is May Day, aka May 1st, the previous year, in a ritual setting. So we hyper-planned for Rowan to come and he came on the Wolf Moon, which is appropriate because one of the Gods we invoked while we were conceiving him was the Lord of Wolves. When he was born, we found it really funny because he had gray fur all over his back and on his legs. We were like, "Oh, he's a little wolf cub!"

PD: The conception doesn't sound particularly romantic.
LSK: Actually, it was thrilling, especially at that moment when we both knew that it had worked. Witches' rituals are very sexy in general, and this one was especially so!

PD: So how does Joe Average Guy define "witch?"
LSK: The average person probably thinks that there's no such thing in real life and that it's sort of a storybook idea. You know, the caricature that you see at Halloween, with the green skin, bump in the nose -- the old hag. Or if they are part of particular religions that do believe that we're real, they believe that we're evil or something to be feared.

PD: So, any truth to that?
LSK: Witch is a term that encompasses several different religious traditions. People call themselves witches whether they are men or women or transgender. We believe in certain precepts. Witches believe that everyone is connected. And not just people, but everything on the planet; that everything is part of nature. The connection itself is Divine and we're connected to the Divine.

PD: Divine, like God?
LSK: Some witches believe in a couple of deities, some believe in many deities. We don't just believe in the one male deity. It's sort of an earth-based religion. We believe that the earth is sacred and that we need to take care of it. These are the commonalities that witches share.

PD: What is Feri witchcraft?
LSK: My religious tradition is an American witchcraft tradition that, just like America, is influenced by a lot of different populations coming into the United States. It has influences in Appalachian folk magic, Mexican folk magic and Hawaiian folk magic. Hoodoo, which is also something I practice, is an African American spell work tradition. There are many people in the South who practice Hoodoo and a lot people mix up the word Hoodoo and Voodoo. Voodoo is a religion. Hoodoo is a set of magic spells that anyone can do.

PD: I've seen magic spelled with a "k," as in m.a.g.i.c.k. Is this a witch thing?
LSK: You could spell it magic, with no "k," but that term is used by illusionists like Criss Angel and authors like J.K. Rowling, so its real and original meaning got convoluted and diluted. It was Aleister Crowley, I believe, who started calling what we mean magick, with a "k." What he meant is the art and science of knowing your true will -- your real purpose here on earth -- and enacting it in the world. Spells and such are ritualized actions using a symbol language, which speak to the unconscious mind, to make these things happen, but they don't work like on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch."

PD: Is Rowan's dad a witch?
LSK: My partner is also a witch and he's a priest in the Feri tradition. I'm not a priest yet. Our tradition is a mystery initiatory tradition and I have not yet been initiated. I'm studying with my teacher and she says initiation is coming soon. I've been studying for about six years, but I have not yet been initiated. So she holds mysteries that I don't have yet.

PD: So, how is a witch family structured?
LSK: We're fairly progressive as a family. We believe in equal parenting. My partner does just as much child care as I do. We both equally split bread-winning. It could be because we're witches, but pretty much everything we do is because we're witches. It's a cultural thing.

PD: How do you raise a baby witch?
LSK: He's going to be raised with a witch's mindset, but we're not going to force anything on him. Our religious tradition, as I've said, is an initiatory one, and he will have to be initiated before he can be a full member of the religious community, and he can actively choose that.

But he's also going to learn about all the other religions and what they mean, and not in a biased way. I'm actually in seminary right now, the Unitarian Universalist Seminary, getting my Masters of Divinity, and it's a multi-religious education. I'm taking classes on Islam, I'm taking classes on Christianity, on Judaism, on a lot of different religious traditions and I'm learning it from religious practitioners. It's an unbiased environment. I feel really strongly that my child should know about the people of the world and their cultures. And he should be free to learn what we believe, and when the time comes he will decide what he believes.

PD: Do Mom and Dad do the initiating?
LSK: People initiate their lovers, people initiate their children ... but in our tradition, it's frowned upon to teach those whom you are intimately connected to. You can initiate your lover or child, but you usually send them off to get their education from someone else and that person determines when they're ready for initiation. So, we're going to be raising him as a witch, and if he decides to pursue Feri witchcraft, he will find a specific teacher, besides his father and I, to learn from. And when he's ready, they will initiate him or we will, if he asks for that.

PD: What are some of the rituals that you'll teach him?
LSK: Ritual, to me means casting circle and working between the worlds. This is the closest witches have to attending church, which, of course, I will teach Rowan to do. But witches make magic every day, regardless of whether they have done all the circle-casting and whatnot. Think about it. Are Christians only being Christian when they attend church on Sunday? Not really, right? I will teach Rowan to listen to all living things: people, animals, plants and rocks. I will teach him to be ethical and discerning and realize that his words and deeds have impact on this and other worlds. I will teach him how to manifest his will and make stuff happen. As for actual rituals, we observe the eight sabbats, which are holy days, on the wheel of the year, and we also do esbats, which is a meeting on new and full moons, from time to time. We also sometimes perform rituals for specific purposes, like spellwork, at these esbats.

PD: Halloween is coming up. Will Rowan wear a costume and go trick-or-treating? Do witch kids go trick-or-treating?
LSK: Halloween, as it is represented in mainstream American culture, is not something witches celebrate as a religious holiday, but many celebrate it as a secular one, like a Labor Day or Thanksgiving. It is not the same religious holiday as Samhain, where Halloween has its origins, but it is fun. Trick-or-treating is a part of mainstream culture and I see nothing wrong with having some fun and doing Halloween up for kids. I had a blast as a kid playing pranks, trick-or-treating, dressing up and going to parties. I hope that Rowan has just as much fun with his friends. He already has several costumes -- a bee, a dragon, a fairy, a firefighter, a skeleton -- that he wears to the supermarket and other mundane places.

PD: Where do witches go to school? Do you plan on homeschooling?
LSK: I'm not quite sure if he's going to go to a public school, a private school, if he's going to be home-schooled or group-schooled. I'd like to find like-minded parents who want open-minded, free-thinking children, so that we could all be responsible for the curriculum together. And so that the kids will actually get socialization together, which I think is the main thing at school. I'm doing a lot of research right now. He's only 6 months old, so I have some time to make a decision.

C-Span2

Greetings,
Just wanting to know if any one else saw the program on C-Span2 a few days ago, that had to do with a panel of speakers talking on role of Spirituality in our lives. I came upon the program really late, so did not hear all of it.
The Title of the Program was, 2010 Harlem Book Fair Religion Panel. Three of the Four speakers were, Mata MorenoVea: author of "The Altar of My Soul", ( a book on Santeria Spiritualism); Sarah Sayeed - Women In Islam, Inc. - President; Obrey Hendricks: author of "The Politics of Jesus", (Don't be put off by the title !); Bishop Carlton Pearson: author of " God is NOT a Christian, Nor a Jew, Muslim, Hindu...".
What all of these speakers had to say, what I heard of them, were very relevant with what is going on at this present moment, and were very inspiring, and insightful.
Also, (guess I have been as ostrich with my head in the sand), but I have just recently heard of "The National Religious Freedom Day - October 27(?). Has any one else, heard of this ? I think it needs to be celebrated NOW ! (ha!)
Have a Great Day !

Thoughts

Ask, Believe, Receive - just three simple steps to create what you want.
However, very often the second step, believe, can be the most difficult
one. And yet it is the greatest step you will ever take. When you master
believing, you have mastered your life. ~Michael Blue Eagle

Thoughts

Right now, my first option is to increase the size of my library so I will have something to read that I can trust to be accurate and listen to the radio, they still play music I like, and get some Cd's of groups I like. All this satellite and cable TV is really a bunch of "B.S.". I remember when there was only 2-4 hours of TV available and the rest of the time it was blank. I think that would be a great improvement.
David Wade

Thoughts

Today I will not think wrongly of another. No matter who they are, no matter what class of people they are from. What matters is this. I will love myself and this will reflect as a sky reflects off the still lakes. As the bright fall colored trees reflect off the lakes. And as my reflection falls upon all things, so will my love for you.

Affirmation:

I will love myself and this will reflect as a sky reflects off the still lakes. As the bright fall colored trees reflect off the lakes. And as my reflection falls upon all things, so will my love for you.

~ The Wayfinder ~

(A Spiritual Guru who needs some work)

Quote of the Day

When we come into this world we come in as a completely open trusting souls. We are then taught to "trust" and believe our parents, friends, authority figures, church etc. Especially in some of us older folks generation, we were taught to do this unconditionally.

Many bought into the fairy tell. Many of us have suffered deeply for it. Many of us have made mistakes in our lives, and many of us have hurt others as well.

However, I believe this quote is still valid. Because now that we are awake, we have a choice in life. We can continue to let the past hold us prisoner and make us bitter. Or we can CHOOSE to accept this part of our lives as our particular life's lesson that we needed to go through in order to make us stronger and more aware. After all if you have never known pain, how does one know when they are not in pain.

What is the hardest thing to do for a good many people is to accept and let go those things that have harmed them in the past. It took me a long time to learn that lesson myself. Now I've learned that these things made me the person I am today. I had to go through all those experiences, both good and bad, in order to be stronger.

It may sound strange, but what we should be doing is thanking those people that have caused you pain. Thank them for waking you up so that you could see. And then let all the past go. Release all that bad energy and ground yourself to the here and now.

By releasing all that, you can move forward and then that quote will aid you on your journey forward. Its never too late to start living.

210 Sacred Harvest Festival

What: Sacred Harvest Festival
Where: Harmony Park, just north of Albert Lea, Minnesota
When: August 7-15
Web: http://www.harmonytribe.org/shf2010/

You can still sign up for the 2010 Sacred Harvest Festival through the end
of July.

The tribe has been hard at work designing a festival around this year’s
theme; “Seducing the Muse”.

Our special guests will help attendees find their muses. This year we have
internationally known environmental sculptor, performance and video
artist, Cherie Sampson. Anne Marie Forrester, well-known local artist and
longtime member of the Pagan community, will be there to help you tap into
your inner creativity. Author Veronica Cummer is returning this year.
White Deer will be there with his drums as well as his dancer wife,
Violette Rose. Visit our website to see their bios. There will also be
other wonderful workshops during the week.

This year’s rituals will inspire the muses. Here’s the proposed ritual
line-up:
Saturday: “Welcoming the Wise Child” – this ritual will engage the part of
us which is knowing yet playful.
Sunday: “Finding your Muse” – Search the camp for your sources of
inspiration.
Monday: “Honoring the Oaks” this guest ritual from Owl’s crew will honor
nature and the land.
Tuesday: “Kid’s Comedy & Tragedy” – this ritual drama will deal with
inclusiveness and miscommunication.
Wednesday: “Tribal Hunt” – this ritual is an annual tradition of intense
personal transformation.
Thursday: a guest ritual from Violet Rose and White Deer.
Friday: “Rangoli” – another annual tradition of making designs filled with
our prayers, and then dancing them into the Earth.
Saturday: a guest ritual from Anne Marie Forrester & Veronica Cummer
Sunday: “Closing Pot-Latch Ritual” – throughout the week, everyone will be
encouraged to make a blessing pouch, and during this ritual the pouches
will be exchanged and given away.

Of course the entertainers all have a wonderful relationship with their
muses; Murphey’s Midnight Rounders, Rumgumption, Hugin the Bard, and Magic
Mama. This will definitely be a good year to also just hang around the
Bardic Circle. Of course we will be continuing the Not So Talented Talent
Show hosted by Sister Mirtha Reverence!

There will also be multi-tiered workshops every day to inspire your muses.
There will be drumming and dancing every night. By the end of this
festival, every attendee will have had many opportunities to connect with
their creative energies.

Sioux Prayer Request

Sioux Prayer Request

This is an open letter from Chief Arvol Looking Horse (Present Chief and Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe of the Lakota, Dakota, Nakota Nation of the Sioux)

Gulf Coast Oil Spill – Sioux Prayer Request

A Great Urgency

To All Nations

My Relatives,

Time has come to speak to the hearts of our Nations and their Leaders. I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, to come together from the Spirit of your Nations in prayer.

We, from the heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the World; we are guided to speak from all the White Animals showing their sacred color, which have been signs for us to pray for the sacred life of all things. As I am sending this message to you, many Animal Nations are being threatened, those that swim, those that crawl, those that fly, and the plant Nations, eventually all will be affected from the oil disaster in the Gulf.

The dangers we are faced with at this time are not of spirit. The catastrophe that has happened with the oil spill which looks like the bleeding of Grandmother Earth, is made by human mistakes, mistakes that we cannot afford to continue to make.

I asked, as Spiritual Leaders, that we join together, united in prayer with the whole of our Global Communities. My concern is these serious issues will continue to worsen, as a domino effect that our Ancestors have warned us of in their Prophecies.

I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel our united prayers for the sake of our Grandmother Earth are long overdue. I believe we as Spiritual people must gather ourselves and focus our thoughts and prayers to allow the healing of the many wounds that have been inflicted on the Earth. As we honor the Cycle of Life, let us call for Prayer circles globally to assist in healing Grandmother Earth (our Unc'I Maka).

We ask for prayers that the oil spill, this bleeding, will stop. That the winds stay calm to assist in the work. Pray for the people to be guided in repairing this mistake, and that we may also seek to live in harmony, as we make the choice to change the destructive path we are on.

As we pray, we will fully understand that we are all connected. And that what we create can have lasting effects on all life.

So let us unite spiritually, All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer. Along with this immediate effort, I also ask to please remember June 21st, World Peace and Prayer Day/Honoring Sacred Sites day. Whether it is a natural site, a temple, a church, a synagogue or just your own sacred space, let us make a prayer for all life, for good decision making by our Nations, for our children's future and well-being, and the generations to come.

Onipikte (that we shall live),

Chief Arvol Looking Horse
19th generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe

Blessed Be,
Lady Arialora

Solar Wind Power

The following are some sites that give you ideas and possible cost and financing. I will try in the days coming up to add to this list. One of the things I have heard about to cut electrical costs to find out how energy efficient your current home is called thermal imaging. It takes a thermal photo as to where the heat and cooling leaks are in your home so you can plug these gaps. I recently moved into a new apartment complex here in Missouri(August 2009) and was shoked at the electrical bill I had for September and October. It has electric heat and central air conditioning and the total electrical bill per month was $20.00. Recent laws passed here in Missouri mandated energy efficient construction of all new houses and apartments. These modifications to your home can make the purchase of solar/windpower more affordable. Here in Missouri, you are required by law, when purchasing solar/windpower for your home, to contact your electrical company so when you hookup your home with solar/windpower and you make more electricity than you need, you can get paid for your excess power production.

Limit your use of Energy

Thanks for passing that info on. So perhaps this isn't in the card for you just yet, however, there are many other things you can do. Have you considered wind power, we have plenty of wind where I live in Arizona.

Limit your present use of energy. We've all heard of physic vampires but do you realize you have energy vampires in your house?

Your computer is one such energy vampire. There is a meter you can purchase to check appliances and such in your house to see what appliances are guilty of constantly sucking energy out of your house. Let me look it up and I'll post it here. Change to the new energy efficient light bulbs.

Have a "black out night". Use beeswax candles or some other form of illumination rather then flipping switch.

Walk when you can. Start a garden. Turn off the light switch. Shade the sunny parts of your home to reduce your cooling. You can make what are called window quilts. White for summer and a dark color for winters that will attract solar heat.

Have a tank water heater? Look into getting a heat on demand tank less water heater. They only run when you turn on the hot water tap and heat the water you need instantly. No tank, gives you more space and doesn't waste propane or electric.

Only buy from businesses who are "green". Use the cloth bags for your groceries or make your own and decorate as you wish. Stop using so much plastic. Recycle, Recycle, Recycle.

There are many things you can start doing now that no matter how small it seems will make a difference. The point is if everyone starts thinking green and start with the little things, it will make a major impact collectively. The more you get used to doing it, the easier it is to take the next step. Think outside the box...some folks are building their own solar panels. :D

Just some thoughts.

Recipe For Red skin or Rough Skin

An age-old folklore ideas that seem to have been lost with time. But if you follow step by step instructions it can benefit you. Cut a tomato in half sprinkle just a touch of salt on it. Rub it on your red or toughened skin. Don't worry about seed or dribbling juice; you will be able to was it off in an half and hour after it dries. Then wash off, swab the treated area with a quart of boiled water which you have added a tablespoon of white vinegar. Do not use soap, ointments or lotions beyond the tomotoe and the vinegar-water. If the redness is still apparent after 2 hours repeat the treatment.

Beltane Year Cycle

Many of us celebrate May festivals demonstrates how Pagan survived the Christanization of the British Isles. The May Queen is simply a disguise for a Goddess proxy. Even the May pole the very heart of our holy day, is a symbolic merger of soft feminine ribbons playfully winding around an erect phallus. Celebrate May Eve at sundown or May 1st also known as May Day. Named for the Celtic God of light. Witches calender beginning of summer, the first day of fout Celtic fire festivals.
The Beltane Craft summer festival observed on the full moon nearest May Ist. Which would of been April 28.

Witch's Reply

Witches are not all what you see on late night TV show. The Christians profess to have the expertise, But little do they really know. The preachers preach their sermons; their pulpits they fiercely pound.Thou shalt not suffer a Witch to Live!" they say. Their ignorance is so totally profound! They say that Witches worship 'Satan'.. Well I am here to say that just ain't so! Witches don't even acknowledge their 'Devil'. You see I'm a Witch so I guess I oughta know! Nor do we ride our brooms or steal little children to eat. These are rumor started by the Christians. These people are so dear, so sweet. And we don't sacrifice animals or humans. As we're reported to supposedly do. We were the ones being sacrificed, it certainly wasn't you.
Witches live in harmony and love and honor our Mother Earth We treasure the world we live in. And love to marvel at the miracle of birth. So before you stroke up your fires, before you set up your stakes. Please take the time to learn the truth about Witches! For all our sakes..

Milwaukee Ostara Festival, March 28

Greetings all,
I know this event may be a bit far for some of you, but the Milwaukee Pagan Unity Council (MPUC) has been working their cottontails off on this event and I thought I'd share this great resource.

The festival has 3 tracks of workshops all day, plus a children's track with kids activities, rituals, and workshops. ADF will host the opening ritual and I'll be hosting the closing ritual in the ecstatic participatory style. I'll also be offering a workshop on tools for Pagan leaders and community builders.

It's free to attend, though donations are accepted. Enjoy, and spring abundance to you!

Water Street Bridge

Separately these music veterans are known as Jocko Voxo, Mavpotchka, Nox and
Goater. Together they're turning heads, changing minds and carving out a new
genre of acoustic music. Blending Celtic, Americanna, Gypsy, Blues, Folk,
Slavic, Creole and Jazz music they create a sound that is uniquely Water Street
Bridge and can only be described as Garage Celtic, Pseudo-Slavic,
Electro-Magically Eclectic Acoustic.

Brandishing an impressive arsenal of musical instruments (including guitar,
resonator guitar, mandolin, ukulele, fiddle, viola, pennywhistle, squeeze box,
harmonica, bongos, doumbek, agogo, washboard, djembe, tupon and bodhran - just

and twisted takes on tales never meant to be told.

This AIN'T your mommas folk music. Anything can happen, and usually includes a
heaping Gumbo of Celti-Slavi-World-i-Cana, with plantains.

Ostara Ritual Planning Workshop, March 21st, Milwaukee WI

Ostara Ritual Arts and Planning Workshop
March 21st, 12-6pm,
Location on the East Side of Milwaukee near UWM. Please pre-register for address

Take a breath...can you smell the season turning from Winter to Spring?

At this workshop, we will explore basic tools for putting on public rituals. We will explore the tools of ecstatic ritual and step into experiential ritual work. If you've wanted to lead, or better support public rituals, or see more excellence in public ritual work, this is a great introduction to tools and skills for offering rituals that will really help a group sink into the work.

We'll also brainstorm about Ostara and Spring in order to help plan the Closing ritual for the Milwaukee Pagan Unity Council's Ostara Festival on March 28th. Participants in the class who wish to can choose to support the ritual on the 28th. We will also do an Ostara ritual as part of this afternoon workshop.

It is Ostara, time for the Seeds of Change. The seeds awaken within the earth, softening with the melting snow and rains, and stretching toward the rising light. What seeds do you plant now, or have you planted in the earth before the cold season? What are the seeds that you wish to tend for this year? This is the time of healing, and of regeneration. What are your hopes, wishes, and dreams that you will pray for? Will you hold the seeds planted in the rich earth of your heart, and imagine the tree grown strong?

Registration:
Donations accepted on a sliding scale from $1-$50. Register or ask questions -- ShaunaAura@gmail.com

NO MEANS NO!!!!

Guy: "Lets have sex right now."

Girl: "Can we do what?"

Guy: "You know, can I be your first, finally?"

Girl: "Um.....no."

Guy: "Why?"

Girl: "Because, 1. you have a girlfriend, who happens to be my friend......."

Guy: "So, if you don't tell, I won't tell."

Girl: "Besides that, I'm waiting for someone special. Someone that I want to be with for the rest of my life to be my first."

Guy: "I'm not special to you?"

Girl: "You're my friend. That's all."

Guy: looks forward and keeps driving.

5 minutes pass.......

Guy: starts to run his hand up the girl's thigh.

Girl: moves his hand, "Don't touch me.".

Guy: tries to kiss her.

Girl: screams, "Would you stop."

Guy: continues trying.

Girl: moves to the back seat

Guy: parks on an abandoned street and gets in the backseat with the girl. Starts to kiss her.

Girl: pushes him off and scoots over, "Please, don't do this."

Guy: "Don't do what, I know you want it, I can see it in your eyes." Moves over to her and starts to unbutton her pants.

Girl: pushes him harder and says, "No, don't."

Guy: getting aggravated, punches her and tells her to stop "playing hard to get".

Girl: crying, continues to fight.

Guy: punches her harder, pulls her pants off, and holds her down.

Girl: screams as he penetrates her, "NO, please don't do this to me!"

Guy: puts his hand over her mouth.

An hour passes.........

Guy: pulls back and wipes himself off.

Girl: sits on the corner of the seat, crying.

Guy: looks at her and says, "You better not tell anybody about this. If you're really my friend, you won't tell anybody about this. You know I love you." He reaches out his hand to touch her cheek.

Girl: pulls back, "Just take me home, now."

Guy: says, "Alright." Gets in the front seat and drives her home.

2 months later.........

Girl: "Doctor, what's wrong with me. I haven't had my time of the month in 2 months."

Doctor: looks at her, "You haven't been having your "time" for a reason."

Girl: looks at him and says, "Why?" dreading the answer that she was sure to receive.

Doctor: "You are pregnant."

Girl: faints.

The story gets out that she is pregnant, and people start looking to the Guy. He claims that it isn't his because she was sleeping with every guy in the school(which was a lie). He goes to her and tells her, "I'm telling you, if you lie to people and say that I raped you, I'll kill you."

The Girl is completely devastated. First, he took her virginity and got her pregnant....then he lied about it. So completely depressed......the girl commits suicide by drug overdose.......

Girls, if this story touched you, repost it as "No means no asshole"

Guys, if this story pisses you off, repost it as "I'll kill any fucker who does this to my girl or any girl"

Well the way I see it if you open and read this and DON"T REPOST this you must be for rape???
Enough said

This is a workshop for anyone who has struggled with these issues in relationships or groups. All of us have internalized models of power as domination, which often interfere when we attempt to form new structures based on power-from-within. Will you step into your own power?
